The Seven Sisters is a mountain formation on the island of Alsta in the municipality of Alstahaug in Nordland. The mountain formation is easily visible on the coast of Helgeland and consists of seven peaks that are said to represent the seven sisters: Botnkrona (1,072 m a.s.l.), Grytfoten (1,019 m a.s.l.), Skjerdingen(1,037 m a.s.l.), Tvillingan (945 and 980 m a.s.l.), Kvasstinden (1,010 m a.s.l.) and Stortinden (or Breidtinden) (910 m a.s.l.)

It is said that the poet-priest Petter Dass gave the mountain range its name, but the name may also come from the legend The Seven Sisters which tells how several well-known mountains in Nordland were formed. The mountain range has also previously been called "Horva" because the formation resembles a harrow (a harrow) lying with its tines up. Information from Wikipedia.
